Other than being a super rad artist, his work applies to my project idea in that I want to do something where it's disorienting to look at up close but comes together to form a larger image that works as a coherent portrait.
Chuck Close is awesome- he has prosopagnosia which means he's "face blind" so he can't remember anyones face even if he's seen it for his entire life. It's so cool how he paints portraits, he photographs the person, blows the image up to the size he wants, then sections it off into grids to map out the colors that he'll use in the smaller section.
