Goodbye cruel, cruel world.

Dearly beloved, our time here has come to an end. Patrick, sadly has not survived. We must move on and learn from his best qualities. To love without restraint, live fully and without compromise, these are things Patrick embodied. Remember him as he was: a prolific blogger, friend, lover, visionary. No more, no less. No more shall we wait to achieve our dreams. This is the time of the living and the dead must rest. Rest with the violent ambition with which you lived, Patrick. Goodbye world. Goodbye, Patrick.

Andreas Gursky

Since my project is all film, I can't post anything from it, but I'd like to do something similar in the kind of dazzling, mind-numbing scale as Gursky, maybe with this project but probably not.

A still from Fellini's 8 1/2. Really great movie that straddles reality and dream really well. Also, I really like black and white 60s cinematography.

Image 4765, the last of the great images

The last in the great images bloodline, guaranteed to fail the storied legacy of his ancestors.

"I love that picture" -Quite a treat to hear such a nice comment from a friend

Super Neat Dude

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Marclay
Does lots of collage work and worth checking out for The Clock, which I may have already posted here, but also he's a bit deal within the DJ world (apparently he invented messing with records on turntables from a performance art perspective)

Chuck Close

File:Chuck Close 2.jpg
Other than being a super rad artist, his work applies to my project idea in that I want to do something where it's disorienting to look at up close but comes together to form a larger image that works as a coherent portrait.

My Project Idea

For the next project, I think I want to shoot a giant portrait of a day made up of scenes of lots of different people as the day progresses. I'm not sure yet if I should put them together like a collage or in uniform, next to each other.

Money is nothing more than a bar game

A dehumanizing force that crushes you and makes you feel like there is no other purpose, or bullseye, to aim for.

And all he wanted was someone to swing with...

Everybody's going out
And having fun
I'm a fool for staying home
And having none
I can't get over how she set treat free,
Oh, oh lonesome treat

Check This Out

So basically this guy took clips from tons of different movies that featured a clock or mention of time and then assembled them so the clips formed a working clock with movie clips. He set it up in galleries and anytime you walk in, the time will reflect the exact time of the day. I think this is really rad and that maybe I could try something weird and collage-y, no real ideas but still, rad.

More from my artist

Treat thinks he's trying to channel Tesla. Pretty cool either way. Very eerie in their technological experimentation/imagery.

Robert and Shana Park Harrison

Rad pictures. They kind of get the whole minimalist/dreamlike idea across while looking to be from an old/creepy children's book

My Project

Since my project was shot on film, I can't post pictures from it on the blogosphere. So sorry any readers who aren't in my photo class but are waiting in anxious anticipation of my future work. I can assure you that my project is super rad, though! Ms. Etten shall be the final judge of their radness and she will hand down the decision from the International Radness Counsel as to their infinite radness. Thank you. Patrick out.
